


On 25 August 2024, at the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi, India, Dr. Supachai Verapuchong, Secretary-General of BodhigayaVijjalaya 980 Institute, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on “Cooperation in Culture and Religion” with Dr. Aashish Bhave, Director of the International Centre for Cultural Studies, India, witnessed by Mr. Suresh Soni, Patron of the International Centre for Cultural Studies (ICCS), Ms. Pattarat Hongthong, Thai Ambassador to New Delhi, and Most Venerable Banagala Upatissa Nayaka Thero, President of the Mahabodhi Society of Sri Lanka, and Mr. Kshenuka Senewiratne, High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India.
This signing of the cooperation is to support academic cooperation, research, conferences and activities to propagate Buddhism and provide knowledge on how to apply Buddhism to daily life in order to create tangible results in creating good people and creating a society with morality and ethics, as well as creating a good understanding in living together in harmony and peace, using the principles of Buddhism and the principles of other religions as the core of development to create sustainable and stable prosperity on the path of peace for all humanity.
One of the important aspects of the signing between Dr. Supachai Verapuchong and Dr. Aashish Bhave is that the BodhigayaVijjalaya 980 Institute, together with the International Centre for Cultural Studies (India) will grow into a consultancy center providing advice to governments, public and private sector organizations in the Asian region and globally.
