At the Dharma-Dhamma Conference 2025, organized by India Foundation and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University, Dr. Supachai Verapuchong, Secretary-General of the Bodihgaya Vijjalaya 980 Institute, declared the Institute’s commitment to advancing Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision from an “Asian Century” towards a “Dhamma Century,” highlighting the role of Buddhism in shaping global peace and harmony.
The conference gathered religious organizations, scholars, and ministers from across the world. H.E. Tshering, Minister of Home Affairs of Bhutan, and Dr. Lobsang Sangay, Senior Visiting Fellow at Harvard Law School, expressed their support for the Institute’s vision, emphasizing the importance of guiding the Fourfold Buddhist Community (monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen) beyond theoretical study into genuine practice.
In addition, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University invited Mr. Maris Sangiampongsa, Deputy Secretary-General of the Institute, together with Dr. Supachai Verapuchong, Secretary-General of the Institute to deliver a special talk on “Buddhism: As a Way of Life.” This concept will be widely disseminated among students and academic networks, strengthening understanding of the Institute’s ongoing initiatives in recent years.
