After eating, he floated the golden tray and prayed on the bank of the Neranjara River that if he would attain supreme enlightenment and become the Perfectly Enlightened Buddha, he would let this tray float against the current. His wish came true. The tray sank and hit the golden trays of three other Buddhas in the past. There was rain mixed with wind throughout the week. The Naga King Mucalinda coiled his body around the Buddha and spread his hood over the Buddha\u2019s head to protect him from the sun, wind, and rain and to protect him from all dangers from wild animals for seven days. When the rain stopped, the Naga uncoiled his body, transformed into a man, and went to pay homage to the Buddha. The Buddha exclaimed, \u201cSeclusion is happiness for one who has seen the Dhamma, who delights in living in seclusion, who understands the truth. Non-harming is restraint of beings, and freedom from lust is happiness in all ways.
